Brigadier General Juha-Matti Ylitalo,

Chairman Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) and NORDEFCO

As a deputy chief of FDF Logistic Command (since 1th July 2022) Brigadier Ylitalo is coordinating capability building and armament related activities in FDF Logistic Command. Brigadier Ylitalo also hold the position of FDF chief engineer

Prior current post, as HX- materiel project director at FDFLOGCOM Colonel Ylitalo, was responsible of the procurement process, contractual arrangements and building of the sustainment functions for Finnish fighter program HX. He served as HX Project Director during 2017-2022. Since 2001 Ylitalo has held variety of air-system related leadership positions within the FDF logistics and operational organizations:

- Air Systems Division lead / FDFLOGCOM / Joint System Centre - Chief of Aircraft Brach / FDFLOGCOM / Joint System Centre - Division lead / Aircraft Division / FAF Air System Depot - Chief engineer /FAF Karelia Air Command - CO / Aircraft Maintenance Squadron / FAF Karelia Air Command

During his early service years Colonel Ylitalo has been serving as NCO/maintainer/technician for F/A-18, BAE Hawk, Mig-21 fleets since 1987. Ylitalo was member of the US/USN trained technical team for the F/A-18 fleet introduction and sustainment solution national adaptation. Ylitalo hold B.S Degree on information technology and M.S Degree on automation and system technology. Colonel Ylitalo enjoys motorcycling, cross-country skiing and gym.
