Commander of Land Component Command Romanian Land Forces

Born on 8th of September 1972, in Rădăuți town, Suceava County, Brigadier General Gabriel – Constantin TURCULEȚ graduated Military High School “Ștefan cel Mare” in Câmpulung Moldovenesc in 1991 and continued his studies at the Military Institute of Tanks and Automobiles between 1991 and 1995. Starting with 1995, he got his first appointment as an officer within 154th Tank Battalion. From 1995 to 2016 he occupied various leading positions such as platoon commander, company commander and S3 Operation and Training staff officer within 15th Mechanized Brigade “Podu Înalt”. In 2016, he was appointed battalion commander within 631st Tanks Battalion “Oituz” and after two years, in 2018 was promoted within Land Forces Staff. Starting with August 2021 he assumed command of 282nd Armored Brigade “Unirea Principatelor”. Since his commission as an officer, Brigadier General Gabriel – Constantin TURCULEȚ served one tour in Iraq and three tours in Afghanistan, one of which as a battalion commander within 151st Infantry Battalion “Black Wolves”. As for his education, Brigadier General Gabriel – Constantin TURCULEȚ graduated several military training courses, both in Romania and outside its borders, as follows: training course for company commanders, basic course for tank officers and staff officer course in France. Later, he graduated the Postgraduate Course of continuous development in leading-Land Forces and he earned a master degree after attending Command and Staff College within National Defense University “Carol I”. He also has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. As recognition for his contribution to the growth of Romanian Army’s prestige and also for the outstanding work during his career, he was awarded the following: NATO Non article 5 Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and NATO Meritorious Service Medal, Romanian General Staff Emblem of Honor, IIIrd, IInd and Ist class Meritorious Emblem “În slujba păcii”, IIIrd and IInd class Meritorious Emblem “În serviciul Armatei României”, Romanian Army Emblem of Honor, Land Forces Emblem of Honor, Communication and Information Emblem of Honor, air Forces Emblem of Honor, IIIrd class Meritorious Emblem “Acțiuni umanitare”, “Participant la misiuni în străinătate” Insignia and the Honorary Title “Militar Veteran”. Regarding his personal life, Brigadier General Gabriel – Constantin TURCULEȚ is married and has one daughter.
