- The importance of delivering an advanced understanding of the underwater battle space to support operations in littoral, open ocean and other unique maritime environments
- NATO´s new standard for Identification of Friendly Submarines (IFS) and its role in assisting NATO maritime assets in the rapid and positive identification of friendly submarines
- Effectively classifying positive submarine contact to maintain a recognized underwater picture
- Using the IFS-functionality to prevent blue-on-blue engagements. Enabling quick and covered underwater identification information exchange among the Alliance’s maritime units
