MAIN CONFERENCE DAY TWO - 27 FEBRUARY
Thursday, February 27th, 2020
As applications of AM technology continue to evolve, the relationships between users, academia and solution providers are evolving in parallel. Industrial-research partnerships are critical to the long-term success of AM within the aerospace industry, in order to make sure the many applications of AM are realised.
This panel discussion invites leading UK research institutions to consider emerging technological, certification and wider AM ecosystem challenges, which may pose as obstacles to the advancement of AM in the UK.
Topics of discussion:
• What collaborative efforts must research institutions and the aerospace industry undertake to further realise the potential of AM? What successes can be pointed to so far? How can collaboration be maximised/improved?
• What are the remaining technological roadblocks limiting the move towards industrialisation, how can the community better collaborate to overcome these?
• In which ways can developing collaborative approaches to AM development help maximise performance of current/future designs?
Aninteractive discussion session where a select group of speakers and industry experts will summarise the key takeaways from the days before. Facilitated by the conference chairman, audience members will also be invited to comment and ask questions.
The idea is that the discussion will provide a helpful summary and some tangible take-home ideas that can be implemented in your organisation.
