DARPA investing big in software defined radio

DARPA, the US R&D giant, is prioritising a number of projects, including efforts to redesign the communications landscape. Defence IQ has reason to expect big things in the coming months.

While much is being done on this side of the Atlantic, our American partners are doing much to claim their own stake in the progress of software-defined radio (SDR). Perhaps chief among them is the focused efforts that the government-led Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has been running throughout this year to source innovation from anyone with the skill and the will to improve this technology.
