This is our fourth segment of Defence IQ's interview with former Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth. When pressed, he admits that perhaps not enough was done to support combat needs in Afghanistan under Gordon Brown's tenure. In comparison to US Defense Secretary Robert Gates, he claims that politicians did not back his work to provide adequate equipment to British troops on the front lines. Further, Ainsworth comes out in support of the coalition government's move to establish a broader cooperation with the European continent for integrated European defence force.
