U.S. Air Force T-X Programme: Latest News

The United States Air Force expects to select the aircraft that will become its new advanced jet trainer in FY 2017.  

The T-X programme has had a long and bumpy flight to its present progress, having fended off budget cuts and indecisive analysis over projected requirements, pushing IOC to around 2023. However, progress is unavoidable. 500 ageing T-38s simply must be replaced with up to 350 gleaming new platforms. The official Request for Information was released in March 2015, and, as it stands, a Request for Proposal may be issued as soon as this month.  

Here are the latest developments from the commercial teams expected to pitch a solution for a deal that could net the winning bidder up to $10 billion in the long-run…
