Germany’s new ruling coalition has decided against procuring the 37 aircraft outstanding under the Eurofighter Tranche 3b contract. Berlin decided in June to split Tranche 3 into two parts because the allotted financial resources of nearly EUR15 billion (US$22 billion) only allowed for the 31 aircraft of Tranche 3a to be procured.
