Taiwan looks set to bolster its mine countermeasures (MCM) capabilities with a deal to build six MCM vessels agreed for an undisclosed amount, according to Reuters. Ching Fu Shipbuilding Co Ltd, Taiwan’s largest shipbuilder, is thought to have won the contract, which local media are reporting is worth T$35.2 billion Taiwan dollars ($1.2 billion).
