The Rescue Rangers come to life as Force 9 gale hits UK

The Royal Navy and RAF’s Search and Rescue helicopters were called into service last night as a Force 9 gale wreaked havoc on a cargo vessel near Colwyn Bay.
Five of the people had to be rescued by the crew of HMS Gannet's Sea King Mark 5 helicopter in a tricky operation after their 82m vessel hit rocks. The remaining two crew members from the vessel were later saved by the duty aircraft from RAF Leconfield.
